The artist's first solo exhibition was in the New Dimensions Gallery, in the Scottsdale Cultural Arts Center. City of Scottsdale holds two works from this exhibit in their permanent collection. The series is titled after Henri Louis Bergson's idea of the élan vital, from his book, Creative Evolution. The work was completed in 1998.
